Chiang Kai Shek College – Faculty of Business, Arts and Sciences, in cooperation with the Junior Marketing Association (JMA), hosted a seminar entitled “Entrepreneurial Breakthroughs” last January 17, 2014. More than 150 business students gathered to learn from the speaker, Mr. Henry Lim Bon Liong—one of the leading Filipino-Chinese business tycoons in the country. Also gracing the said seminar was CKSC president, Dr. Dory Poa.

Notable for his efforts to transform the rice industry through hybridization, Mr. Lim is also the CEO of the Sterling Group of Companies. Speaking from experience, he shared insights on how entrepreneurs are vastly different from managers, and how vision and perseverance can make a difference in business. He also emphasized that to dominate the market and become the industry's leader, it is important for an entrepreneur to be willing to take risks and strive to be better than competitors.
