CKSC produced four Champions in two days.

Last September 14, Chiang Kai Shek College dominated competitions during the 2013 ChEleidoscope: A View To The Chemical Engineering World hosted by the Adamson University Chemical Engineering Students Society (AduCHESS).

Senior high school student Candy Joy Chua bagged gold in the Poster Making competition, beating eleven other student-artists from different schools.

CKSC Team 1, with Gabriel Alkuino, Chinarah Tayamora, and Renzo Roel Tan as members, also emerged Champion in the 3rd Inter-High Quiz Bee during the same event. St. Jude Catholic School, with its two teams, won second and third places. Almost thirty teams joined the competition, with Chiang Kai Shek College fielding two teams. Both teams made it to the top five. Trainers of the two CKSC teams were Mrs. Cynthia Yap for Physics, Mrs. Venus Llantada for Chemistry, and Mrs. Armi Mogro for Math. Ms. Eleanor Lope served as mentor of Candy Joy Chua for the Poster Making Contest.

A day after, CKSC came up with two more Champions. Team CKSC composed of Andrew Brandon Ong, Angelo Villamora, siblings Candy Joy Chua and Jefferson Chua joined the Mid-Autumn Lantern Making Contest held at the atrium of Lucky Chinatown Mall. This event was sponsored by the Chinese-Filipino Business Club, Chinoy TV, and Megaworld Lifestyle Malls. 8 teams representing Hope Christian High School, Lorenzo Ruiz Academy, Philippine Academy of Sakya, St. Stephen’s High School, Uno High School, and Chiang Kai Shek College took the challenge of this contest. Team CKSC proved to be the best as it emerged Champion, winning for themselves a cash prize of ten thousand pesos, a trophy, and other prizes. Two of three teams from St. Stephen’s placed second and third, Philippine Academy of Sakya and Hope Christian High School settled for fourth and fifth places, respectively.

Last but definitely not the least, CKSC owned the stage by successfully defending its title in the 2013 Storytelling Competition organized jointly by Lampara Publishing House and the country’s leading theater institution, Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA). This competition was held on September 15 at the SMX Convention Center. Grade 3 student Kathereen Sy Suan was declared Champion in Category A, which is competition for students from grades 1 to 3. She received a cash prize of fifteen thousand pesos, a plaque of recognition, a medal, and gift certificates from sponsors.

More than two hundred participants from public and private schools in and out of Metro Manila joined the storytelling competition, after undergoing an elimination-workshop  at PETA Theater Center last August 31. From there, only twenty storytellers were chosen as finalists. Proudly, all CKSC entries passed as finalists in the two categories, including Kathereen Sy Suan who eventually emerged Champion, Sophia Janelle Chua, Samantha Mae Chua, and Ian Rovanne Manabat. All of these bright kids delivered their stories in the final round with awe and conviction. Mrs. Shirley Bolodo, Ms. Jocelyn Calugay, and Ms. Ailene F. de Leon mentored the CKSC pupils.

Congratulation, CKSC achievers!
