CKSC Math Whiz Kids Haul Medals in 3rd International Mathematics Invitational Competitions in Singapore

CKSC students recently brought honors again to the school by winning medals and merits in the 3rd International Mathematics Invitational Competitions 2007 held in Singapore last August 18. Around 400 outstanding math students from China, India, Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines competed.

Winning gold medals were Paul Julian G. Hao of IV-5 and Geovin Dexter C. Uy of I-1. Andrew D. Sia of II-5 won a bronze medal while Abigail Crystel C. Sy of III-5 and Bianca Lorraine W. Sing of I-1 got merit awards.

59 Filipino students joined this competition and the said team harvested a total of 11 gold medals, 12 silvers and 21 bronzes. Other schools who joined are Xavier School, St. Jude Catholic School, Philippine Science High School, PAREF Southridge School, Grace Christian High School, Naga Hope Christian High School, Jubilee Christian Academy, etc.

After the competition, MTG-Philippines, the group responsible for screening the Philippine contestants and training them for international competitions rewarded the 59 students with a tour of Singapore, which included a visit to the city-state’s famous Night Safari, Sentosa and other key places.
