3 CKSC Students Won in the Po Leung Kuk 11th Primary Mathematics World Contest

Three CKSC students who had joined the Po Leung Kuk 11th Primary Mathematics Contest in Hong Kong last July 16, 2007 won various honors.

Mathew Ng, the grade school valedictorian (English Instruction) of March 2007 won second honors while Geovin Uy, currently a first year high school student and Henry Jefferson Morco, a grade six pupil won third honors in the Individual Category.

In the Group Category, Henry won first runner-up with other teammates in the Philippines-Luzon Team while Mathew won second runner-up in the Philippines-Metro Manila Team. All in all, the Philippine participants garnered three (3) group awards and nine (9) individual awards.

Po Leung Kuk is a welfare and education sponsoring body in Hong Kong that runs 105 educational units from preschool to college. This contest was jointly sponsored by the Institute of Education of Hong Kong and Panda Hotel in Tsuen Wan.
The contest was joined by 44 teams from 12 countries and territories including the U.S., Mexico, India, China, South Africa, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Macau and the Philippines.
