CKSC Dominates Chinese Competitions

CKSC is definitely one of the best, if not the best, Chinese learning institutions in the country.

Its students dominated the "Creativity with Chinese Characters" On-the-Spot Bulletin Board Making Contest sponsored by the Filipino-Chinese Cultural and Economic Association last November 16 at Liberty Hall in Benavides Street, Binondo, Manila, with 3 of 4 categories having CKSC teams as champions.

In Category A, the team of Candy Joy Chua, Angelo Villamora, Andrew Brandon Ong, Lorriane Nicole Tan, Pei Lin Ke, Dyanne Valerie Ong, and Ma’am Severina Siu Yan Yu won 1st Prize in Category A (3rd and 4th year high school students). Also in the same category, another CKSC team, composed of Reginald Anton Hong, Jemilyn Kaw, Kamille Lim, Nicole Ivy Koa, Dianne Kate Go, Vanissa Tanlimco, and Ma’am Kuo Ching Lin Liao took 3rd Prize.

Also, 1st Prize in Category B, which was for grades 7 and 8 high school students, was also copped by CKSC, through the efforts of Jefferson Chua, Adelaine Mae Zhu, Evelyn Andojoyan, Jing Yi Huang, Joyce Kimberlline Pua and their teacher-mentor, Mr. Hung Chung Chiu. Two other CKSC teams also landed honors in Category B, with 3rd Prize going to the group of Jaden Chua, Erica Blanch Yu, Erika Chan, Marybelle Tandoc, Michelle Joy Go, and their teacher, Ms. Joanna Que. Another team composed of Michelle Ang, Mikee Janine Uy Ching, Darwin Justin Yao, Janel Yao, Andrea Jasmin Farnacio, and Ma’am Yim Fong Yip settled for merit award.

Grade school students who competed in the same competition did just as well. In Category C for grades 5 and 6 pupils, the team of Danica Ysabel Koa, Jessica Mae Qui, Jack Calvin Chua, Kimberlee Kence Sy Suan, and Ma’am Vivian Tan won 3rd Prize. Another team won a merit award, this time with Jiaxin Wang, Michael Benjamin Morco, Jedrek Rahl So, Steven Jentyn Castro, and Ma’am Chang Yeung Jabar.

1st Prize winner for Category D (grades 3 and 4) was the group of Ma’am Jacqueline Villamora with her students, Trisha Danielle Sia and Wolverix Skyler Yu. 3rd Prize went to the trio of Ma’am Cassandra Lim and her students, Arabella Aliah Chong and Tobi Jasper Wang.

Also announced recently were the winners of the Chinese Calligraphy Contest for students who belong to the Huang-Uy Family Association which was held as early as September 14, 2013. 1st prize in Category B went to Tiffany Huang, while Arabella Aliah Chong won 2nd Prize in Category C.

In the 2nd Overseas Chinese Youth Cultural Competition held last November 23 at the FFCCCII Auditorium, CKSC was a major force to reckon with. In the talent competition, almost all prizes were taken home by CKSC students, including 1st Prize for Jemilyn Kaw, 2nd Prize for Gere Ganixon Ang, 3rd Prize for Candy Joy Chua and Kimby Patrice Estanislao. In the declamation contest, Jefferson Chua, Zhang Yalun, and Maria Karmeli Soliven, in that particular order, all won 3rd Prizes.

Congratulations!
