CKS Students Excel in Various Competitions and Events

CKS College students showed what stuff they are made of as they joined various contests and activities.

Team CKS College, composed of high school students Andrew Brandon Ong, Janelle Dy, Angeli Louise Go, Patricia Claire Balay, and Andrea Jasmin Farnacio, bagged the silver medal in the Scrabble competition of the 2014 Milo Little Olympics - National Capital Region leg last August 23 to 24, 2014. The contest was held at the Regional Education Learning Center in Marikina City. Mentored by Naty P. Sia, the determined CKSCians proved their worthiness in the event and were presented their medals by Ms. Nene Lambino, president of the National Scrabble Association of the Philippines.

 

CKS College grade school pupils took three of the top five spots in the 2014 Manila Downtown YMCA Chinese Singing Contest (Grade School Division) last August 24. Trisha Danielle Sia won first place, Ethan Jason Tanlimco took third place, while Zendrene Lim copped fifth place. They all won cash prizes.

 

 

Scouts from the Fédération du Scoutisme Français or Federation of French Scouting visited Chiang Kai Shek College last August 15, 2014 to interact with the CKS boy and girl scouts and to join their activities. The visiting scouts, Mathilde Tchernoukha, Mathieu Johanet, Lucky Dit, Edouard Blanchier, and Alexandre Deschaume, came from the Groupe Saint Jean Baptiste of Sceaux, France.

That same day, 8 Kab Scouts from CKS College joined the Regional KABsayahan 2014 organized by the National Capital Region, Boy Scouts of the Philippines at the Marikina Sports Complex. With the theme "Kid at Kab Scouts: Gintong Butil ng Kaunlaran Para sa Kinabukasan", the event was formally opened by Marikina City Mayor Del de Guzman.The young kids were accompanied to the event by Mr. Danilo Supelana.
