Since the beginning of August, the Buwan ng Wika was celebrated all throughout the month, peaking at the last day of August. In line with the celebration of Buwan ng Wika, the Senior High School Student Government invited Mr. Joaquin Sy, a Filipino-Chinese Language Enthusiast, as a distinguished guest speaker last August 31, 2016 at the Chiang Kai Shek College Main Campus Auditorium. The whole senior high school batch and faculty were invited as audiences, with different strands wearing different-colored clothes that matched that of the Philippine Flag, Red for the STEM Strand students, Blue for the ABM Strand students, White for the HUMSS Strand Students, and Yellow for the Senior High Faculty, to fully achieve the significance of the celebration. Mr. Joaquin Sy gave a talk about his works he translated from the Chinese Language to Filipino, all the while retaining its meaning. The students gleefully enjoyed the different poems Mr. Joaquin Sy presented, ranging from topics of family and friendship to love and success. More importantly, the talk gave meaning to the beauty of the Filipino Language, reminding every student to speak their language proud in every single day of their lives.
